RCJ Advice Bureau at the Royal Courts of Justice
From Wednesday 31st October 2007 we introduced our new bookings system at the Royal Courts of Justice offices of the Bureau. The system is described below:
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked from Wednesday to Friday each week for any day during the following week – every Wednesday a full new week of appointments will therefore be available.
How far in advance can I book?
The Bureau books appointments up to one week in advance – you therefore have more choice about the day and time that you come for advice, to fit around your other commitments.
Bookings will continue to be taken from Wednesday to Friday until all appointments for the following week are fully booked, after this time the telephone line will be for cancellations or emergency enquiries until the next week’s booking period opens.
So, for example, if you are the first person to call on a particular Wednesday at 10.30am, you will be able to pick any appointment time on any day of the week beginning the following Monday. As more calls are taken the choices will be limited, and we anticipate that all appointments for the following week will be booked by lunchtime on Fridays.
To book Appointments
Telephone – 020 7947 6564
The telephone line is open on Wednesday to Friday from 10.30am until 12.30pm.
Can I still book appointments in person?
Bookings can only be made through our dedicated telephone line on 020 7947 6564 – it is not possible to book an appointment by visiting the Bureau,
What if it’s an emergency?
People with emergency cases (e.g. people facing eviction that day) should still attend the Bureau in person
What if I need to change the time of my appointment or cancel it?
You will be given full information about how to contact us if you cannot make your appointment for any reason, or would like to change to an alternative day or time, when you first book your appointment.
How often can I have an appointment?
Appointments will be limited to one appointment per person per week, to ensure that more people can get in to the Bureau to receive advice.

Please bring all relevant documents with you, such as letters or other papers about your problem, as this will help to ensure that you see the right person, or enable us to suggest an appropriate agency if your problem is not one that we can assist with.
There may be times when we are very busy and we may be unable to give you advice on the day. We will always try to avoid this where ever possible
