How do I get family law advice at the RCJ Advice Bureau?

You can only obtain family law advice by appointment - it is not possible to book an appointment for family law by visiting the bureau.  Appointments are booked by telephone one week in advance with a new week's diary becoming available from Monday each week.

How do I get general advice from the RCJ Advice Bureau?

General advice includes consumer, debt, housing, employment and welfare benefits queries.

The bureau’s offices are open 9.30am-4.30pm.  During this time you will see a receptionist or “gateway” assessor who will assess your case and identify the best course of action for you – this might be to see one of our general advisers, to refer you to another agency, or to provide you with some information to help you resolve your query.

The appointment line is open from Monday to Friday 10.00am to 1.00pm.

All civil cases are dealt with at this branch where solicitors provide free advice on civil law matters that are dealt with at the courts on a daily basis, such as procedural advice and preparation of court of appeal documents.

All appointments are booked in advance through our dedicated telephone line, with a new week's diary becoming available from Wednesday each week – it is not possible to book an appointment by visiting the bureau.
