On Monday May 17th 2010, thousands of lawyers, their friends and colleagues will once again take part in the Legal Sponsored Walk now in its 6th year! 4,000 walkers raised over £380,000 on May 18th 2009.

As always, the Bureau will field a team, including staff, trustees and friends of the Bureau. The walk is a 10 km loop around London's legal landmarks so at about 5.00pm on Monday May 17th our intrepid band of walkers will stream out of the Great Hall at Lincoln's Inn and take to the streets to raise funds for the work of the Bureau. The Rt. Hon Lord Judge of Draycote,The Lord Chief Justice of England & Wales commented last year:

“ Free legal advice agencies provide a tremendous service to people in need of help with housing, debt, benefits, community care and other areas of social welfare law and I'm delighted that a thousand more people have joined the walk this year. Please do your very best to raise sponsorship between now and then"

Legal walkers 2007The grand total raised for the RCJ Advice Bureau in 2009 was a massive £31,360.29! We would like to thank all our friends who supported us by walking, fundraising or giving sponsorship last year and hope you will be equally generous in 2010.

This year we need your support more than ever as, due to the recession, we face huge increases in the numbers of people approaching us for help with employment, debt and housing problems.

Please help us to raise funds for the Bureau in 2010.
