Making a real difference
Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers advise and support people across our wide range of services. We collect evidence from these services to understand the difference we are making to people’s lives. This can include the numbers of people we provide advice or support to; it can be people’s feedback about the different a service has made to their lives; it can be evidence of what happened as a result of our advice or support; or it can be examples where we have used the evidence to shape a service or influence a wider policy or decisions being made.
Our impact
Below we highlight areas where we would like to share the difference our services have made.
Supporting Survivors of Domestic Abuse
We recently launched our Impact Report on our ground-breaking initiative providing urgent legal help to women experiencing domestic abuse, FLOWS (Finding Legal Options for Women Survivors). A partnership between RCJ Advice and Rights of Women, FLOWS enables women – often at their most vulnerable moment – to access lifesaving legal protections quickly, safely, and with dignity.
Headline findings from the Impact Report reveal FLOWS’ extraordinary reach:
- Over 70,000 interactions with survivors experiencing domestic abuse through the RCJ Advice team
- More than 59,000 survivors received direct legal support
- 41,500+ protective applications completed using CourtNav, FLOWS’ digital case tool
- 345,000 people accessing FLOWS services nationwide.
Women who have used the service shared powerful testimonies. One said:
“Tough times never last, your support gave us freedom. Please know what you’re doing is changing lives.”
