Firms and Corporate Giving

Each year we support more than 50,000 people, right across the country.

Formed in 1978, RCJ Advice – Citizens Advice & Law Centre, is an independent charity, based originally out of the Royal Courts of Justice in central London, providing both local and national services.

RCJ Advice provides a lifeline to some of the most vulnerable in society by giving free legal advice to people facing court cases or legal issues, regardless of their financial situation. We ensure that everyone knows their options and has access to justice. We also support people more broadly with the justice system, including through our Miscarriage of Justice Support Service and our Time Together child contact centre.

We work with a diverse range people who are excluded, on low income or vulnerable and cannot afford to pay for legal advice including ethnic minority groups those who are disabled or have a long-term health condition.

Jenny’s Story

“When I met Ted, everything seemed perfect. I got pregnant soon after and was so excited to be expecting our first child, I thought he would be too. When I told Ted the happy news, everything changed. He held me down and shouted at me and when I struggled to get loose, he hit me. One day he returned home from work and told me that if I didn’t terminate the pregnancy, he would kill me and the child. I decided to run to my friend’s house. But Ted found my packed suitcase and pushed me down the stairs – injuring me badly and worst of all, losing my baby. When I was in hospital, I decided to tell my story to the nurse. I felt powerless, lost and scared but the nurse helped me plan to leave.

Through RCJ and their FLOWS domestic abuse legal advice service, I was able to access a solicitor and get a non-molestation order. Because of RCJ Advice, Ted can no longer come near me.”

Your company can be part of the solution

DONATE AS AN ORGANISATION – BECOME A CHAMPION:

RCJ Champions are partner organisations who support us financially. By doing so they receive branding benefits for their company, regular updates on our work, and the opportunity to give staff pro bono opportunities – all in the knowledge that their organisation is making a visible commitment to reducing inequality and helping those in need.

Benefits for making a donation include recognition online as an RCJ Champion; branding alignment (which, depending on the size of the commitment, can be tailored to your needs); and regular updates on the impact of your donation which you can share with your staff and clients.

You can contact our Chief Executive, Mark Allan, directly by emailing him at feedback@rcjadvice.org.uk to find out more and to discuss next steps.

You can also download our information leaflet for more details and so you can share with colleagues.

Will you be part of the solution? Your generosity could help someone secure a safe home, protect a child’s future, or navigate their way through a complex legal battle.
