The Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (HLPAS) is a Legal Aid Agency funded service to help people who have received written notice that someone, for example their landlord or a creditor, is seeking possession of their home.
We can provide support in two ways:
- We can provide Early Legal Advice, so we can help you if you have just received an email or a letter from a landlord or creditor seeking possession of your home.
- If you are attending the Central London County Court, we can provide free advice and representation on the day from our duty adviser. Make sure to arrive 30 minutes before your hearing, and bring all relevant paperwork with you.
We provide this service along with the Mary Ward Legal Centre and North West London Law Centres.
This is a free service – it does not matter what your financial circumstances are.
